Bridge To Terabithia (2007)

This is a flicker/motion picture/movie/film I recently watched on a TV on Star movies channel. I just happened to see it when I tried to switch channels one to another. The reason why I would continue to watch it is that I had seen a picture of this film somewhere on the internet;and the Chinese translating name of this film was quite appealing to me which was 尋找夢奇地 meaning "In Search Of A Dreamland". So I kept on watching. Then I found there were some people known to me. A kid named Jess Aarons (Josh Hutcherson) in this film was so familiar to me where he cast in this film "Zathura：A Space Adventure 迷走星球 (20005)" watched by me not long ago. And the other guy,Jack Aarons (Robert Patrick),was just the bad guy in the film "Terminator 2:Judgment Day 魔鬼終結者2：審判日 (1991)" against The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger) who was immediately recognized by me at first glance. It all made me say WOW when I saw these people. I wondered why these people were in the same film. This kinda felt great. At fisrt sight of this film,you thought this was gonna be such flickers as Narnia or Harry Potter which was something magical and imaginative. But the result was it wasn't really like that. As a matter of fact,it's a story of "friendship" between two teenagers named Jess Aarons (Josh Hutcherson) and Leslie Burke (AnnaSophia Robb). Their very first encounter is in a running race. Surprisingly,Leslie beats all the boys including Jesss who thinks himself capable of winnig the race. Jesse find Leslie are his neighbors,and later they race again. And they find a place only belonging to them,calling themselves rulers as king and queen in this place that they call "Terabithia". It is a world created by their imagination and "You Must Keep Your Mind Wide Open" to see it. So often do they come to this place which is an escape from the real life,many things happen to them. There are some scenes I particularly remember. For instance,on sudents' way back home by bus,Leslie gave Jesse a piece of Juicy Fruit gum. Yo,that was what I used to do when I was a kid. I would always give something to my friends if I had somethiing to share,such as chewing gum or candies. That was kinda memorable when I recalled. The second instance is that Leslie gives Jess a paint kit for his birthday present,and Jess gives a dog in return. After Jess's sister May Belle sees his brother receiving the present,she starts to say "Jesse and Leslie..........." which means ... you know. On the other hand,Leslie hugs Jesse to show his apprecaition. There's something going on here. When they look at each other in the eyes,it reveals something. The third instance is that Jess and Leslie are ready to back home after a trip to Terabithia while it's raining. That Jess and Leslie are saying goodbye,and the way they look back at each other obviously reveals their affections to each other. Basically,I love and admire the way they treat each other like two yougsters have no suspicion of one another. It's like they are going to fall in love with each other. You can tell it in their eyes that they've got something to say. However,Jess thereafter goes to a museum with his music teacher he adores pretty much without inviting Leslie. When Jess comes back home,his parents tells his friend Leslie is dead by hitting her head probably on the rock in the creek as she tries to swing across the creek. Thus,Jess's parents want him to accompany them to pay their last respects. This scene kinda makes my tears flow a little bit in my eyes for this is really really melancholy at that moment. (Even now I'm feeling it upon recalling it.) Lesle's dad tells Jess that Leslie loves him and he's the best freind she's ever had. But the ending is quite cheerful because Jess and his little sister May Belle create a whole new world altogether.
